Generally, ESP – or extra sensory perception – is the psychic ability to perceive hidden things from a distance using nothing but one’s mind and consciousness.
These abilities are sometimes called telepathy, clairvoyance, remote viewing, remote listening, remote touching, and so on. It also includes the ability to look into the past or future, for instance, dream interpretation.
Such psychic powers, if real, are extraordinary. Do psychic phenomena really exist?
Parapsychology, or psi, is an area of scientific research that attracted much attention in the 70s and 80s. The word psi represents all psychic abilities and they were studied in much depth.
The ‘cold war’ was an era of international espionage. There is evidence that the United States and Russian governments invested large sums of money in research and development of ESP. If it truly existed, and if they could harness it, the advantages would be significant.
Some academic institutes and universities continue to study ESP today. Their experiments are highly scientific and conducted under tightly controlled conditions.
The results: We seem to live in a conscious universe.
But skeptics feel that the data is not strong enough and continue to hold their negative position.
Historically, ESP is an ancient phenomenon and is described in spiritual literature the world over.
The Bible, for instance, describes many prominent instances of dream interpretation. It is real and is compatible with teachings of the Bible.
“ And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.” – Joel 2:28
Throughout the Bible, spiritual people have had remarkable dreams and visions and seem to have accurately interpreted them.
Similarly, ancient yoga literature from India contains many detailed descriptions and explanations of ESP.
Ancient yogis explained we all possess more than your five senses of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. You have a sixth sense – your conscious mind.
Just as we understand the importance of physical training and health, it is also important to maintain the strength and health of one’s mind.
The mind is much subtler than the physical senses and is more than an information processing unit. Just as your bodily senses can be enhanced through proper training, so too can your mind.
Unlike your body, however, your mind has virtually no limits. When quieted and perfectly trained, it can send and receive information from any source in the world, regardless of how far the object may be. The mind is enormous and connects subtly across the whole universe. Around the world minds connect with each other and those that are truly in tune with the spiritual can experience God. This is because God, too, pervades the entire cosmos. God is everywhere. This is why God is also known as the ‘Universal Consciousness.’
Truly, we live in a thoroughly conscious universe!
How can you quiet your mind and nurture the superb energy of ESP? Even better, how can one experience God?
One way is through yoga.
When practised conscientiously, yoga is the ultimate tool to cultivate and channelize your conscious energy positively. Our intuitive mind is perhaps the greatest asset we possess and we can use it to help others and experience the divine.
Yoga connects you directly to all knowledge and all truths. The whole universe is interconnected. No object, no person or creature, no time, past, present or future, no emotion – anger, rejection, or love – and no values of society can be isolated from one another. Everything connects with everything else and everything connects with God.
No one and nothing is dispensable. All are important, all is holy, and all is whole. This is the eternal truth espoused by Sages of the Bible and Yogis since millennia. This is the potency of Yoga.
It isn’t made up. It isn’t speculation. It isn’t thinking.
There’s direct proof.
The agreements of the Bible, Yoga Literature, and modern science are extensive.
Every follower of religion, every skeptic of spirituality, and every proponent of science should contemplate and witness for themselves these tremendous agreements and their implications.
The scope of these convergences also includes the worldwide flood and extinction of life described in the Bible as well as its ‘seven day’ synopsis of creation.
Both narratives have counterparts in ancient Yoga Literature. The Yoga Literature contains similar descriptions.
Indeed, the hundreds of correspondences in the ancient Yoga Literature and Bible cannot have arisen through mere speculation. Even the greatest titans of intellectual pursuit such as Plato, Ptolomy, Aristotle, Galileo, and Newton combined couldn’t derive all this knowledge.
Its presence in ancient spiritual literature is therefore genuine evidence for spiritual discovery. It proves that some individuals in the past were able to connect with the universe – and God – and therefore describe our universe in authentic detail.
Most importantly, when they said “God exists and loves you,” they meant it. The same spiritual path that led them to discover our universe and describe it in wonderful detail also led them to discover God.
